   At 8:30 p.m. on June 4, Robert Ostrowski, of Kennedy Boulevard, was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his Ford pickup truck through the front window of Manville Pizza, police said. No one in the store was injured.
   Mr. Ostrowski was transported to Somerset Medical Center. He was treated, transported to police headquarters, and released after agreeing to make a court appearance. His vehicle was towed.

At 1:57 a.m. June 5, Thomas Brown, 35, of North 10th Avenue, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, driving while suspended, driving without a license, and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle after being pulled over for spinning the wheels of his car on North 10th Avenue.
   He was transported to headquarters, processed, and released that night.

At 12:12 p.m. on June 5, Tomas O. Ortiz-Loarte, 19, of Bridgewater, was charged with theft after his employer, Adesa Auto Auctions on North Main Street, contacted police to report he had stolen an auto part, police said? .
   Police said an air intake manifold, valued at $100, was taken.
   Mr. Ortiz-Loarte was taken into custody, processed, and released after agreeing to make a court appearance.

A boys orange 20-inch AMX low-rider bike valued at $100, was reported stolen from an East Camplain Road residence at 8:02 p.m. on June 5.

At 10:03 p.m. on June 5, police responded to a motor vehicle fire at Niro’s Auto Body.
   Two vehicles sustained heavy fire damage.

Three women were charged with shoplifting $1,218 in merchandise from Wal-Mart after store security contacted police at 4:02 p.m. June 6.
   Grace E. Marin-Quishpe, 23, of Plainfield; Shara A. Hassan, 19, of Plainfield; and Tatiana M. Jimenez, 19, of North Plainfield; were charged with shoplifting after Wal-Mart security observed them leave the store with two totes full of merchandise that had not been paid for.
   Ms. Hassan and Ms. Jimenez were released after posting $1,000 bail each; Ms. Marin-Quishpe was released after posting $757 for an outstanding warrant from Woodbridge, and the $1,000 set in Manville.

Timothy Griffin, 26, of Middlesex, was charged with shoplifting after Wal-Mart security found five DVDs totaling $95.52 on him at 5:41 p.m. on May 6, police said.
   Mr. Griffin was transported to headquarters, processed, and released after posting $500 cash bail.

Mylan Robinson, 25, of Newark, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police stopped him for a loud muffler at 11:44 on June 6 at the Van Veghten Bridge.
   A canine unit smelled the drugs after Mr. Robinson was stopped.
   He was released after the charge was filed, pending a court appearance.

At 10:49 a.m. on June 7, a South Fifth Avenue resident reported that someone broke into her locked car while it was parked at her residence and stole an iPod, valued at $325.

A North Eighth Avenue caller reported kids breaking glass bottles in the street at 5:32 p.m. on June 7. Patrols responded and transported the kids to their houses. The caller agreed to clean the glass from the road.

At 6:54 a.m. on June 8, a Knopf Street resident reported a hit-and-run driver had damaged an electric pole on Knopf Street during the night.

At 12:46 a.m. on June 9, police found a man passed out on the corner of North Sixth Avenue and Brooks Boulevard. Police believed the man was intoxicated. He was transported to Somerset Medical Center.

Several callers reported a fire under the Van Veghten Bridge at 3:30 p.m. on June 9. Police reported finding wood and tarps on fire on one side of the bridge, and called the Fire Department.

At 6:04 p.m. on June 9, Victor Hugo Garro-Vasquez, no age or address given, was issued a summons for driving while suspended, maintenance of lights, driving without a license, and expired non-resident touring privileges after police stopped him near the Van Veghten Bridge because of a damaged headlight.

At 12:57 p.m. on June 10, James W. Donnelly of South Street, was charged with public consumption of alcohol.
   He was issued a borough summons and released.

Ronald Kozlowski, 61, of North Weiss Street, was charged with disorderly conduct at 9:12 p.m. on June 10.
   Police received reports of Mr. Kozlowski yelling and screaming obscenities at pedestrians, kids, and motor vehicles at LJ’s Boardwalk Ice Cream on South Main Street.
   Mr. Kozlowski was processed and released in his son’s custody.
