Railroad history
   Thursday, June 21 — The Bordentown Historical Society will present "A Trip on the Camden and Amboy," the sixth program in the series supporting the 325th Anniversary Celebration. The program will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House and will feature industrial and architectural historian Paul W. Schoop. The program is free and open to the public.

Solstice story stroll
   Friday, June 22 — The campfire series continues at Fernbrook Farms Education Center at 7 p.m. with a Solstice Story Stroll. Admission costs $5. Advance registration is required.

‘The Faculty Room’
   Friday, June 22, to Sunday, June 24 — The original two-act comedy "The Faculty Room" will be performed at the Riverview Studios on Farnsworth Avenue in Bordentown. The show is about a spirited group of students at the fictitious St. Michael the Archangel High School. They resort to drastic but humorous measures to convince a group of their favorite teachers to stand by them in their fight to save the school.
   The show will go on at 7:30 p.m. June 22 and 1 and 7 p.m. June 23 and June 24. Tickets cost $10 and can be reserved by calling Mak at the Silk and Tweed in Bordentown at (609) 298-4456. Seating is limited to 50 to 60 people.

Garden Tour
   Saturday, June 23 — The Bordentown Historical Society presents the History in Bloom garden tour, celebrating Bordentown’s 325th year. The tour runs from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $10 in advance and $13 at the gate. The rain date is June 24.

Music festival and pig roast
   Saturday, June 23 — The Florence American Legion Post 194, located at Sixth and Broad streets in Florence, will hold its annual music festival and pig roast featuring Joe Zook and Blues Deluxe, along with Southbound, Lisa Bouchelle, The Fury and DJ T, from 1 to 7 p.m. The rain date is June 24. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the post or at the door.

Occasion in the Park
   Sunday, June 24 — The Roebling Historical Society presents Occasion in the Park from 1 to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at Roebling Park on Riverside Avenue in Roebling.
   Sally Starr appears from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Live music will be provided by Punchline. Load up on stuffed cabbage, bacon bread, fruit and home-baked goods. Local food vendors and community and business booths will be on location. A moon bounce, a slide, pony rides, a petting zoo and face-painting will be available for children. Stop by the Roebling Main Gate Museum Booth for a look into the future museum.

Blood drive
   Monday, June 25 — Bordentown Township is hosting its annual blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Senior Community Center at 3 Municipal Drive. The blood supply is very low, especially in the summer months. Donating blood is easy, safe and makes a difference in a patient’s life.
   Residents, past donors, new donors, sponsors, eligible high school and college students, friends and neighbors are encouraged to join in saving lives. Please do not wait until there is an emergency to help your community. Anyone who is at least 17 years old and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate every 56 days.

Summer day camp
   Monday, June 25, to Friday, Aug. 31— Calling all campers: registration is open for Fernbrook Farms Education Center’s summer day camp, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 to Aug. 31 for ages 6 to 11.

Earth talk
   Tuesday, June 26 — The Bordentown City Environmental Commission will sponsor an earth talk titled "The N.J. Pine Barrens: Up Close & Natural" at 7 p.m. at the Carslake Community Center, located at 209 Crosswicks Street.
   A short natural history documentary about the New Jersey Pine Barrens will be followed by a discussion about the unique ecology of this area, including issues such as fire, water and endangered plants, animals and habitats. The history of efforts to preserve the Pine Barrens, including current conservation efforts, will also be highlighted. Free door prizes will be offered.

Golf outing
   Tuesday, June 26 — The Northern Burlington County Regional High School Band Boosters is sponsoring its second annual golf outing, dinner and gift auction to benefit the marching unit at Hanover Golf Club in Jacobstown.
   The unit is comprised of approximately 80 high school and middle school students who perform at all football games and compete on the USSBA band circuit. The students strive to represent Northern in the best possible manner, learn about perseverance and teamwork and develop long-lasting friendships. You can find them on the practice field from August through November.

Gift auction
   Thursday, June 28 — Bordentown Elks Ladies Auxiliary will host a gift auction in the lower ballroom at 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission costs $4 and includes 10 tickets and treats.
Patriotic production
   Saturday, June 30 — "Celebrate America," the annual patriotic theatrical production honoring active military personnel, veterans and public officials, will take the stage at 1 p.m. at the Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Road, Florence Township.
   A lively band playing American marching music will greet attendees at the door. Song and dance numbers, as well as a World War II newsreel, will be featured.

Class reunion

The Zone
   Friday, July 6 — Enter into The Zone on the first Friday of each month. Come hang out for a coffee house atmosphere at 7:03 p.m.—yes, that’s seven-0-three. There will be an upbeat tempo with great music and thematic art expressions. BYO … instrument, voice, thoughts and friends to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Youth summer program
   Beginning Monday, July 9 — Bordentown City, the Bordentown Good Neighbor Guild and Bordentown corporations, clubs and lodges are sponsoring the Bordentown Youth Summer Program from Monday, July 9, to Friday, Aug. 3.
   The program is geared toward youth ages 12 to 17 and is free. CPR/First Aid training and gang awareness instruction will be provided. Each day will begin with a free lunch at noon at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Bordentown. Activities will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. and athletics will start at 6 p.m. at participating locations.
   The sponsors of the program are asking for support by way of supplies and volunteers. Any person who would like to volunteer is asked to call as soon as possible.

Honoree celebration and roast dinner
   Saturday, July 14 — A roast dinner and celebration honoring members of the Bordentown area who have a long family history and/or many years of dedicated service to the community will take place at the Scottish Rite facility, located at 103 Dunns Mill Road in Bordentown Township. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the grande buffet opens at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $35 and are limited.

Golf tournament
   Monday, July 16 — The Bordentown Rotary will hold its annual golf tournament at Olde York Country Club. There will be prizes awarded for a hole in one, long drive and closest to the pin.
   A continental breakfast will be served, as well as a luncheon and awards ceremony at close. The fee is $170 per person, and checks may be made payable to Bordentown Rotary. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the start time is 10 a.m.
   Hole sponsors are needed to fund area youth projects. Last year, the rotary funded the construction of two new dugouts at Gilder Park. This year, they are funding the renovation of four Bordentown softball fields. For $100, you may be a hole sponsor, and your business name will be placed on tee boxes. For $150, you may be a Cigar Rolling Sponsor.

Block party
   Saturday, July 21 — The second annual Wellington Woods Block Party for residents of the Wellington Woods Neighborhood in Bordentown Township will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Admission costs $7 and is due by Friday, June 15. Each family is asked to bring a dish to share. A quoit tournament and other games and activities will be available for all.

Charter tuna fishing trip
   Thursday, Sep. 20, to Friday, Sep. 21 — A 30-hour fishing trip is planned for members of the Cookstown and Bordentown areas. The trip will take place from 9 a.m. Thursday, Sep. 20, to 3 p.m. Friday, Sep. 21. Be at the dock one hour prior to departure.
   The 85-foot long boat sails from Fishermen’s Supply Co., 69 Channel Drive, Point Pleasant Beach. The trip costs $395 per person. The price includes rods, reels, all terminal tackle, bait and gratuity. All fish will also be cleaned and bagged. The fish will be divided evenly so that everyone goes home with some fish.

   A women’s support group and stress management support group, both led by experienced, licensed mental health professionals, are now forming.

WIC program
   The Bordentown County WIC (Women, Infants, Children) Program currently has a clinic in the Shiloh Baptist Church, Bordentown.
   The WIC is a federally funded supplemental nutrition program for pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under 5 years old.
