William E. Ringle, 69, of Monroe, died Wednesday, June 13, in his sleep.
Born and raised in Jersey City, he was the son of Vera Waters Ringle and Joshua Ringle, a prominent Jersey City official and community leader.
He graduated from St. Peter’s Preparatory High School and continued his education at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering.
In 1962, he began his career at Public Service Electric & Gas Co.
He received a law degree from Fordham University and was admitted to the N.Y. State Bar Association in 1968.
His love of learning and teaching others led him to a 27-year career as a professor of business law at Queensboro Community College, where he retired in January, 2000.
A longtime resident of Monroe since retirement, he spent his winters in the Treasure Coast section of Florida. He was an active member of Princeton Singles, the Princeton Sailing Club and Stevens Institute Alumni Association, serving most recently as secretary.
He is survived by a daughter, Kate M. Bluvol, and her husband, David M., of Rye, N.Y.; a son, William J. of Johnsonburg; two sisters, Betty Kraemer and Susan Walker Taylor, both of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren, Alexandra R., Samantha R. and D. Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, June 18, at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe, N.J. 08831. Cremation was private.
