FREEHOLD – The Freehold Center Partnership will host its annual Independence Day celebration on July 4 (rain date July 5) from 5:30-10 p.m. at Freehold Raceway, Park Avenue (Route 33). Admission is free.
The event will feature food vendors, craft vendors, live music, entertainment, amusements and games for children, and a fireworks display.
“We host a traditional all-American celebration that is always a big attraction for families,” said Jayne Carr, executive director of the partnership.
From 5:30-7:30 p.m. the Metropolitan Festival Band will stroll throughout Freehold Raceway playing Americana songs, while entertainer Doug Young, dressed as Uncle Sam, performs juggling and magic acts on stilts.
The Full Count Big Band will play patriotic favorites starting at 7:30 p.m. and continuing through the fireworks display. In addition, New Jersey 101.5 FM will be on hand with special games and continuous music. At 9:15 p.m., C.J. Marsini will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” to launch this year’s fireworks show.
