Bordentown Township
Bordentown Township will host its annual Fourth of July celebration on Wednesday, July 4, at Northern Community Park on Groveville Road in Bordentown Township.
The day’s festivities will begin with the annual Fish Derby that starts at 10 a.m. and concludes at noon. The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife will be on site with a presenter, Jim O’Ross, giving fun fish facts and assisting the children to stock the pond. Trophies will be awarded in six categories.
The derby is open to all children. A parent must accompany the children, and registration is held upon arrival at the registration table. Attendees should bring their own bait and fishing equipment. Participants will receive free gifts of their choosing (limited supplies). Winners will be announced by Mayor George Chidley at noon.
The Bordentown Regional High School Student Council will be assisting at the derby and will handle the concession stand, starting at 6 p.m.. They will provide games and host a Silent Auction that ends at 8:30 p.m. There will be live music by Todd’s Porch Band and fireworks at dusk. Rain date is scheduled for July 7.
Florence
The township will hold its annual Patriotic Celebration on July 7.
A 5K walk and run begins at 8:45 a.m. with registration starting at 7:45 a.m. at Alterra Sterling House, 901 Broad St. Entry fee $15.
A flag raising ceremony will be heldat 11 a.m. at the Roebling Circle, Fifth Avenue and Main Street.Parade starts at noon with theme "A Salute to Our Community Volunteers" at Delaware and Railroad Avenue.
A concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Complex, featuring the band Nostalgia.
Fireworks start at 9:10 p.m. at the Municipal Complex, Waterworks Field, Sixth and Broad streets.
Fort Dix
On Wednesday, July 4, entertainment begins at 6:15 p.m. Events include the 307th Army Rockshow Band, Silver Wings Parachute teams, who will be skydiving, and a performance by country music star Craig Morgan. At about 9:30 p.m., there will be a fireworks show.
