The Woman’s Exchange gift shop, 32 Church St., Little Silver, recently held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the historic Coast Guard Station in Monmouth Beach. In addition to honoring volunteers, the board of directors presented the 2007 donations to four area nonprofits: HabCore, Riverview Behavioral Health Center, Saturday Soup, and Children’s Progress Unlimited. The exchange is currently seeking new volunteers who work a flexible schedule of two morning or two afternoon shifts per month. High school students can fulfill community service hours. The Next Generation of Soul brings its 11-piece ensemble to the Sea Bright Municipal Beach (on the boardwalk) for a free concert Sunday, July 8, from 4-7 p.m. From reggae, swing, and rock to ballads, blues and jazz, The Next Generation of Soul plays it all. Come enjoy these exciting male and female vocals, surrounded by the rich sounds of live horns and Latin percussion. All you need is a picnic dinner and beach chair. This concert is made possible by donations to the Sea Bright Recreation Committee.
