Mary Elodee (McGovern) Dohrmann, 85, died, Saturday, June 30, surrounded by her family.
Born in Newburgh, N.Y., she was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. She resided in Cranbury for over 30 years before moving to Whiting and recently moved with her daughter, Elodee and family in Howell.
She was a past member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Hightstown, a member of the American Legion Post No. 148 in Hightstown, and a past member of the Jamesburg Elks No. 2180 Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked as a Controller at Stewart Air Force Base in New York and was a columnist for the Newburgh Star. After moving to New Jersey, she worked at McGraw-Hill from where she retired.
Her son, William F. Dohrmann Jr., and her husband, William F. Dohrmann Sr., are deceased. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Robert Wilmer of Hightstown, and Elodee and Edward Hughes of Howell; four grandsons and their wives, Bernie and Lisa Wilmer of Macungie, Pa., Bill and Debbie Wilmer of East Windsor, Ben and Sandi Wilmer of Westfield and Edward Hughes Jr. of Howell; two twin granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer Hughes of Howell; honorary granddaughter, Danielle Ross of Manalapan; six great-grandchildren, Blake, Bryan, Nicholas, Jake, Alexandra and Andrew; and two nieces and their spouses, Gina and Dave Giordano of Turnersville, and Lauren and Kenneth Serzan of Old Bridge.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 3, at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
