Held tonight (Friday) at Village Park

Cranbury residents who looked to the skies Thursday night saw only rain.
The township’s traditional Independence Day fireworks display, originally scheduled for Thursday, was postponed because of stormy weather and will instead be held this evening (Friday).
Township Clerk Cathy Cunningham said Thursday that Mayor David Stout made the call to push back the event.
"It was postponed because of the weather forecast for tonight," she said Thursday. "It’s supposed to be stormy."
Held at Village Park, the event will still run as planned, Ms. Cunningham said. The Mercer County Symphonic Band will begin playing at 6 p.m., playing show tunes, patriotic songs and more. The fireworks display will begin at dusk.
Ms. Cunningham said the rescheduling of the event shouldn’t affect the number of people who attend.
"We posted it on our Web site and it’s on our phone message, so the public should be well-informed," she said.
The event is sponsored by the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society and the Cranbury Township Cultural and Heritage Committee.
The event is free of charge and open to the public.
