The Metuchen Public Library will begin its annual summer foreign film series, the Edna Newby International Film Festival, on Monday, July 9, with the French film “Heading South.” The festival will continue for the next five weeks. Each film will be shown twice, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on the indicated date. Admission is free to all. Each film will be shown in its original language with English subtitles.
The festival opens on Monday, July 9, with “Heading South.” “Tsotsi” follows on Monday, July 16. Monday, July 23, brings the Japanese film “Fear and Trembling.” The festival continues on Monday, July 30, with the Italian film “I’m Not Scared.” Aug. 6 is the Icelandic film “Noi.” The festival concludes on Monday, Aug. 13, with the Spanish film “Volver.”
