Ellen Marie Dickerson

   Ellen Marie Dickerson, 53, of Hopewell died July 17 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after a lengthy illness.
   Born in Englewood, she was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson College and received a master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University.
   She was first employed as an oncology social worker for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She also worked at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, the Miami Children’s Hospital, where she was head of social services, at Hunterdon Medical Center, and most recently was a social worker for the Trenton School System.
   She is survived by her parents, John and Alice Russhon Dickerson of Lansdale, Pa.; a daughter, Julia A. Dickerson of Hopewell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. John E. and Laurie Dickerson of Belvidere; George and Soheila Dickerson of Wallingford, Conn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Richard Closs of Harvard, Mass., and Kathleen and Ronald Jascott of Plano, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
   A memorial service will be held July 20 at 2 p.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, with the Rev. Doug Rogers officiating.
   Burial will be private.
   Friends may call Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
