Leonard J. Sasso, 87, died Saturday, July 7, at the Health Care Center at Meadow Lakes, Hightstown.
Born in Jersey City, he lived in Bellville for 10 years, moving to Rossmoor in 1972. He was a clothing designer in the garment industry for over 50 years, working for several New York clothing designers, lastly for Pine Shirt Co. for four years, until retiring in 1995. He served in the Army during World War II and was a former member of St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg and the Adult Choir.
He is survived by his sister, Yolanda Norton of Portland, Maine; his brother-in-law, Rocco Perugina of Monroe Township; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
At his request, there were no calling hours and cremation was private. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, Monroe Township. His remains will be inured at St. Anthony’s Mausoleum in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home.
