I am sorry to learn about the resignation of Howell’s Township Manager Tom Czerniecki. Mr. C. has been a great asset to this community over his short tenure as township manager.
When I was on the Township Council, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Mr. C. for the manager’s position. It was his calm ways, professional approach and sense of pride that convinced me he was the perfect candidate to manage our great community.
I wish Mr. C. and his family all the best in his new endeavor and thank him for all the help he provided me while on the council, but most importantly for all he has done for the residents of Howell.
While I hate to see Mr. C. go, I was extremely pleased when I learned that Helene Schlegel would replace him as interim township manager. It is my humble opinion that the mayor and council should have appointed her as the permanent township manager. I am convinced she will do an outstanding job as I feel she is more than qualified to assume the responsibilities and challenges facing our township. Congratulations Helene!
