The Monmouth-Ocean chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners will host a dinner networking meeting July 26 from 6-9 p.m. at Freehold Garden, Gibson Place, off Route 537, Freehold Township. Best Friends Pet Care Centers in Marlboro and Shrewsbury invite families to a free event of fun and education in observance of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day. The event will be held Sept. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. at Best Friends, Marlboro. There will be doggy games, activities and contests with prizes, demonstrations, advice on health, training and behavior, Canine Good Citizen testing, a microchipping clinic, kids’ safety workshops and more. Mayor Carl W. Block of Stafford, Ocean County, and the Township Council presented a plaque to Bill Clanton Sr., chief engineer of Greater Media radio stations WRAT-FM and WJRZ-FM, for his many years of service to the township. Clanton, a resident of Manahawkin, has served as the communications officer for Stafford Township for emergency management for 15 years. He also serves on the tourism council in Lake Como. In 2005, Clanton was named Employee of the Year for Greater Media.

Young Professionals, Forty and Under, a support group for business professionals and college graduates in Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties, will hold its monthly meeting at 507 Main Bar and Grill, 507 Main St., Belmar, 6-8:30 p.m. July 25. John Walsh, of Brick Township, has been promoted to the position of New Jersey Region operations manager at Schoor DePalma, a national engineering and consulting firm based in Manalapan. Walsh previously had served as one of the firm’s Municipal Services Division directors, and he is an executive vice president.

In his new position as operations manager in the New Jersey Region, Walsh will oversee all public and private projects throughout the New Jersey Region.

Walsh is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a member of several professional societies and has received numerous honors throughout his professional engineering career, including the Civil Engineer of the Year award from the New Jersey Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He also serves as the chairman of the Schoor DePalma Community Foundation.
