Cut-a-thon to benefit Couture for Cancer

Hair Together, 3107 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville, will host an Inspire Change Cut-a-Thon from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Inspire Change is the partnership Redken Fifth Avenue has formed with Couture for Cancer, a nonprofit organization that donates custom-made, nonsurgical, human-hair-replacement systems, free of charge to cancer patients worldwide.

Cost is $20 for a wet cut, $15 for men, $12 for children, $10 for a manicure. The event will feature raffles, giveaways, face-painting, refreshments and food. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. All tips will be donated. Cash or checks should be made out to Couture for Cancer. Credit cards will not be accepted.

All funds raised by Hair Together for Inspire Change will be given directly to fund the production of a minimum of 1,000 hair systems, a retail cost of $3,500, for approved recipients.

MVC to issue license,

ID renewals for seniors

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Mobile Unit will visit the Old Bridge Senior Center in the municipal complex, Route 516 and Cottrell Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Seniors must present the six points of identification necessary for renewal of a driver’s license or nondriver identification card. Renewals may be issued up to six months prior to the current license- or ID-card expiration date. There are various fees associated with the services.

Appointments are required. Space is limited to the first 50 individuals who sign up. Deadline for registration is Aug. 14. Applications and 6-point brochures are available at the senior center.

‘Oh, What a Night!’

coming to E.B. Library

The East Brunswick Division of Recreation and the East Brunswick Arts Commission will sponsor “Oh, What a Night!,” a concert featuring Ragdoll, a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute band, at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

Seating is limited to 200. Guests may enter a free raffle to win two tickets to “Jersey Boys” on Broadway. Individuals must be present to win. The tickets will be provided by Youniquely4U, the free library online service that matches customers to local events, programs and information targeted to the their special interests.
