Ernest Howard Kittredge, 78, died peacefully Wednesday, July 18, at Park Place Care Center, Monmouth Junction.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and Pratt Institute.
He established his career as an independent package designer and graphic artist in Manhattan, N.Y.,, where he later met his wife, Susan.
Married in 1964, they moved to Princeton before settling in South Brunswick, their home for the past 35 years.
Ernest enjoyed photography, playing the piano, especially the musical theater of Broadway, and was an avid collector of paper ephemera and artifacts of American pop culture.
In retirement, he was a tutor for the Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex County and a member of Friends of South Brunswick Public Library.
He is survived by his wife, Susan B. Kittredge of South Brunswick; a son, Neil P. Kittredge and his wife, Kirsten Shaw, and new grandson, Asher Shaw Kittredge, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two dear cousins, Marian Suen of White Plains, N.Y., and Edith Blatt of Forest Hills, N.Y.
Burial will be in York, Maine.
