Richard F. Squindo

   Richard F. Squindo, 55, died on Saturday, July 21, at his home in Jamesburg.
   Born and raised in New Brunswick, he lived in Highland Park before moving to Jamesburg in 1984. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. During that time, he worked in many different capacities, rising in the ranks from clerk/mail handler in New Brunswick to serving as Postmaster in Belford. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era and assisted his country, once again, in 2004 when he served as attaché for the U.S. Postal Service in Iraq, re-establishing communications systems. He was a member of the New Brunswick B.P.O.E. No. 324.
   His brother, Frank "Bud" Squindo, is deceased. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette (Collura) of Jamesburg; two daughters, Erin and Bernadette, both of North Brunswick; three brothers, Joseph of Thompson, Pa., Thomas of Somerset, and Peter of South River; his twin sister, Anne Marie Koch of Chester; and two sisters, Margaret Petrillo of Point Pleasant, and Elizabeth Bulfin of Lakewood.
   A Gathering for Family and Friends will be held today (Friday), July 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township. A Gathering will also take place Saturday, July 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. James the Less R.C. Church, Jamesburg.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, 195 Little Albany St., New Brunswick, N.J. 08903.
