A Lawrence Township Board of Education member remained hospitalized at the Capital Health System’s Fuld Campus on Wednesday four days after his vehicle collided with two other cars on Federal City and Brandon roads , trapping him in his vehicle.
John Gregg, 44, of Rosedale Road, was listed in good condition Wednesday, hospital officials said. The accident, which occurred at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, is still under investigation, said police Lt. Thomas Ritter on Wednesday.
A preliminary investigation has shown that Mr. Gregg was traveling east on Brandon Road toward the intersection when his 1999 Honda CR-V collided with a 2005 Mazda headed south on Federal City Road driven by Renauld William, 20, of Trenton. A 2004 Ford Expedition, driven by a 17-year-old from Ewing, traveling southbound behind Mr. Gregg, then hit Mr. Gregg’s SUV, according to reports. The impact of the collision forced Mr. Gregg’s vehicle into the lawn of a home on the southwest corner of Brandon Road.
Mr. Gregg was trapped in his vehicle when police arrived and freed when township firefighters assisted. He was taken to the hospital and treated for serious injuries to his entire body, Lt. Ritter said.
Mr. William and the juvenile were not injured in the collision. No charges had been filed against any of the drivers involved, as the cause of the accident was still under investigation, police said.
Mr. Gregg was elected this past April to his first term on the Lawrence Township Board of Education. He could not immediately be reached for comment for this story.
