Snack foods still needed

Despite a recent donation from Mill Road Day Camp, the South Brunswick Food Pantry is in dire need of snack food.
With school starting in only a month, the pantry needs snacks that can go in a lunch box and are semi-healthy.
"We need snack foods that parents can give their children, whether it’s on the go (or at home)," said Lou Anne Wolf, social services director.
Some snacks that the pantry hopes to receive are snack packs, granola bars, Pop Tarts, raisins and individual Nabisco products. Ms. Wolf said that the new Target on Route 1 sells these types of snacks for low prices and in large quantities.
Although children are still in need of snacks while at home for the summer, the pantry is looking ahead toward the fall.
"Our big concern is for when school starts," said Ms. Wolf.
To donate items to the pantry, bring them to the Social Services Department in the Municipal Center on Route 522 in Monmouth Junction or contact Ms. Wolf at (732) 329-4000 ext. 7674.
