McCarter Theatre calls for volunteers

McCarter Theatre Center for the Performing Arts is looking for volunteers to assist with its upcoming 2007-08 season. One of the most active cultural centers in the nation, McCarter offers more than 200 performances of theater, dance, music and special events each year. More than 200,000 people come to see performances at McCarter each season.
McCarter volunteers are an essential aspect of the theater’s efforts and success in creating outstanding theater and presented events. Volunteers help to provide McCarter patrons with a relaxed, friendly environment.
McCarter is looking for mature adults. It’s not all work. Volunteers can enjoy benefits such as seeing performances at no charge; taking backstage tours of the theaters; attending discussions with theater artists, and enjoying the perks of working behind-the-scenes of a Tony Award-winning theater.
Opportunities to assist are available in all aspects of the theater, including ushers, front-of-house staff, company store staff, artist hospitality, and promotional work as part of the theater’s Street Team.
McCarter will host a Volunteer Fair on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Matthews Theatre to provide more information about volunteer opportunities.
For more information or to become a McCarter volunteer, send an e-mail expressing your interests to [email protected] or visit www.mccarter.org.
