Michael D. Fantozzi Jr.
   ROEBLING — Michael D. Fantozzi Jr., 68, of Roebling, died Tuesday in Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Browns Mills.
   Mr. Fantozzi was born in Florence, he was the son of the late Michael D. Sr. and Grace Mendozzi Fantozzi and was a lifelong Florence resident.
   He was a retired carpenter and member of Local 1489 of Burlington for 48 years.
   During the late 1970s and early 1980s he served on the Florence Township Board of Education. He was an avid Florence Township sports enthusiast who enjoyed supporting his grandchildren’s activities. He spent much of his free time doing yard work.
   Mr. Fantozzi was a member of the Holy Assumption Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Bingo committee of the church, Pope John Paul Council 7428 Knights of Columbus, Florence Township chapter of Deborah and the John A. Roebling Senior Citizens.
   Husband of the late Mary M. Nemeth Fantozzi and brother of the late Carmela Cipriano, Antoinette Carugno and Daniel Fantozzi, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michele and George Gebely of Franklin, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. III and Veronica Fantozzi of Florence; Josephine Piotrowski of Yardville; six grandchildren, Melissa and Amanda Gebely, Alexandria, Michael D. IV, Victoria and Daniel Fantozzi; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Koscheh and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling with the Rev. Albert Ricciardelli officiating.
   Friends may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Shirley A. Conners
Laux
   HAMILTON – Shirley A. Conners Laux, 74, died Aug. 4.
   Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
   Mrs. Laux retired after 35 years of service from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. She was a member of the St. Raphael’s/Holy Angels Parish at St. Raphael’s and a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
   She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Joseph Laux. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul J. Laux of Yardville and Michael T. and Denise Laux of Florence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dottie and Alex Farina of Hamilton and Terri and John Ostberg of Westampton; a brother, John Conners of Virginia; and eight grandchildren, Nicole, Allessandra, John, Kara, Erin , Michael, Amanda and Anna.
   The funeral was held Wednesday from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 1733 S. Broad Street in Hamilton. Burial followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton.

John M. Upshaw
   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — John M. "Hawk" Upshaw, 82, died Aug. 2 at home.
   Born in Trenton, he was raised in Hightstown, where he was educated in the public schools. Mr. Upshaw moved to Bordentown over 50 years ago where he resided until his death. He retired from the state Department of Treasury where he was employed as a maintance foreman for 26 years.
   Mr. Upshaw was a member of Ebenezer Full Gospel Community Church of Bordentown where he was ordained emeritus deacon. He was a former member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Hightstown.
   Predeceased by his wife, Mildred, and one sister, Gladys Nutt, he is survived by three daughters, LaVerne Pope of Bordentown Township; Paulette Miller of Browns Mills; and Tuesday Robinson of Bordentown; two sons, John William and Peter L. Upshaw, both of Bordentown; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Wilhelmina Turner of Ewing and Delores Glass of Bordentown; a brother-in-law, Robert Harris of Columbus; and many other relatives and friends.
   Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 104½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
   Interment will be at Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service of Trenton.
Rosemary Elizabeth
Sabol
   BORDENTOWN – Rosemary Elizabeth Sabol, 83, died July 31 at the Clare Estate in Bordentown.
   Born in Joplin, Mo., she was a longtime resident of the area.
   A past parishioner of Holy Angels Church of Trenton, she would attend mass at St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown or at the Clare Estate. In May of this year, she was selected as the May Queen for the May Day celebration at the Clare Estate.
   Mrs. Sabol was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Joseph F. Sabol and her three brothers, William, Bernard, and Monlaugh Shockley. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Victoria C. Dunlap of Stewartsville, Elaine M. Sabol of Bordentown, Juliana C. and Curt Erickson of Gibbsonia, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Edward Sabol; four sisters-in-law, Ann Kennedy, Eileen Sabol, Carol Rawlins, and Gladys Shockley; her grandchildren, Daniel Dunlap, Kerry Kullman, Lauren Shulman, Kiley and Jessica Erickson; her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kevin and Matthew; her nephew, Dr. Dennis Shockley; a very special friend. Wendy Danish; and her many friends and the staff at the Clare Estate.
   A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary’s Church, 65 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment was held at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Trenton. Donations may be made in Mrs. Sabol’s name to the Clare Estate Resident Activity Fund, 201 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ 08505.
