Marion Gottstine

Marion E. (Reed) Gottstine, 81, of Monroe, died on Sunday, July 29, at her home, surrounded by her family.
      Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she had resided in Old Bridge before moving to Monroe 31 years ago. Before her retirement in 1988, she was employed for 30 years by Supermarket General in Freehold as a night cashier. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Spotswood American Legion Post 253.
      Her husband, Ralph Gottstine, died in 1999, and her son, Ralph Gottstine Jr., died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Marion Kochenash and her husband, Scott, with whom she lived; her stepson, William Gottstine and his wife, JoAnn, of Sayreville; her grandsons, Sonny and Joseph Gottstine of Sayreville; her brother, Walus Reed; and her sister, Joan O’Donnell.
      A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 4, at Meliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville.
