Paving to disrupt traffic on Witherspoon Street

Preliminary work well under way

The Princeton Township Public Works Department will be conducting various steps to resurface Witherspoon Street between Valley Road and Leigh Avenue during the next two weeks.
Preliminary work by township contractor Top Line Construction began Monday and will consist of removing and replacing marked sections of curbing and sidewalk along Witherspoon Street.
The milling and final paving of the street are scheduled to occur — weather permitting — Aug. 17 and Aug. 20, respectively.
For the next two weeks, work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the sections of Witherspoon Street marked "Emergency No Parking" prior to the start of work each day.
Residents will be allowed to park on sections of Valley Road, Guyot Avenue, or Henry Avenue, where work will not take place.
In areas where the curbing and/or the sidewalk are to be replaced at a driveway location, residents are asked to park their vehicles on one of the side streets during the minimum two-day concrete curing period.
At least one lane of traffic on Witherspoon Street will be maintained during construction, and the road will be reopened to two-way traffic at the end of each day.
Provisions will be made for continued services such as mail delivery, garbage and recycling pickup.
Residents will receive an additional notice prior to the milling and final paving of the street.
Township Engineer Robert Kiser or Construction Administrator Robert Killian can be contacted with questions between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 609-921-7077 and Engineering Inspector Scott Hutchinson can be contacted prior to 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. at 609-731-2631.
