JAMESBURG The borough wants residents to head outdoors and enjoy their neighbors’ company at its seventh annual street fair.
The event, which will be held Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. on West Railroad Avenue, will feature free rides for children, vendors of all kinds, food booths and a car show, Business Administrator Denise Jawidzik said. She encouraged residents of both Jamesburg and surrounding communities to come out and take part in the festivities.
"It’s a fun day for the community, a lot of fun for the families," she said. "A lot of people get to see the neighbors that they might not necessarily see."
There will be about 100 vendors with booths at the fair, Ms. Jawidzik said. Some of them will have crafts and trinkets to sell while nonprofit groups will be there to hand out information.
Ms. Jawidzik said she did not know how many cars would be on display during the car show, adding that those who wish to participate need only bring the car they wish to display with them to the fair. She said a contest will be held, and trophies will be handed out to the winners.
She said the fair usually is well attended, and she hoped it would remain that way this year.
"I just hope that the people come out and they have a good time," she said.
