Don’t forget to put your recyclables curbside on Monday morning!
Green buckets
Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office paper, paper bags, telephone books and gray cardboard (coated paperboard) such as cereal, pasta, detergent and cracker boxes and beverage carriers. No need to separate items. Small flat pieces of brown cardboard also accepted. Tied or bagged newspapers and tied magazines and junk mail may also be left at the curb separately. No fax or carbon paper, paper towels, wax paper, window envelopes, books, pizza, soda or beer boxes, or mail with aluminum foil or plastic wrap accepted.
Yellow buckets
Glass — bottles and jars; clear, green and brown; for food and beverages. Empty and rinse. No caps. No other glass such as window, Pyrex, light bulbs, drinking glasses or broken glass permitted.
Cans — aluminum and steel for food and beverages. Empty and rinse. No paint cans, aerosol cans or foil.
Plastic — milk and water jugs; soda bottles; and bleach, detergent and fabric softener bottles. Empty, rinse, remove lid and crush. No motor oil, antifreeze, margarine, yogurt containers or any other plastic container with #3 through #7 on bottom.
Juice cartons, milk cartons and aseptic drink packages. Rinse cartons, remove straws and crush.
IN ADDITION:
Corrugated cardboard of any size may be left at the curb. No plastic-, foam-, wax-coated cardboard. Cardboard may also be deposited at a drop-off site at the Lawrence Public Works facility, 240 Bakers Basin Road, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Household dry cell batteries may be left in blue container located in the lobby area outside the courtroom of the municipal building.
Grass clippings must be placed with trash in township garbage containers. Also, yard waste, including leaves and shrubbery clippings, may be taken to the Joseph H. Maher Ecological Center on Princeton Pike, near Fackler Road.
All items should be ready for pickup by 7 a.m. on the scheduled recycling day. Seals to affix to additional containers may be obtained from the clerk’s office at the municipal building. Fitted lids for buckets available for $2 from Mercer County Improvement Authority office, 640 South Broad St., Trenton, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Monday through Friday.
