Former associate issues support for town council candidate

To the Editor:

I was pleased to hear that the people of Lawrence Township selected Bob Bostock as a candidate for councilman.
I first met Bob when I was an attorney with the US Army at New Jersey’s Picatinny Arsenal. The Army with the southern defense contractors had decided to close Picatinny and transfer their mission and some 5,000 professional jobs, engineers and scientists, to Alabama. Bob was at that time chief of staff for the late Congressman Dean Gallo. With the Congressman’s support, we mounted a massive campaign under Bob’s leadership and guidance to save Picatinny Arsenal and keep the mission and jobs in New Jersey. Bob’s work with the media, and with civic leaders and elected officials of both political parties proved invaluable in this effort. We in New Jersey all owe him a debt of gratitude for the selfless effort Bob put into keeping Picatinny in New Jersey.
He should be a terrific councilman and will represent the interests of all in your township.
