State Senate race needs open discussion
To the editor:
I was ashamed to read a recent negative attack letter printed in the Princeton Packet and Trentonian from Democratic activist Larry Rosenthal aimed against Bill Baroni.
Mr. Rosenthal should consider the fact that his party’s candidate, Seema Singh, reportedly is under investigation by the State Ethics Commission and took $3,900 in contributions from the CEO’s of utility companies that she was charged with protecting consumers from, which is a serious conflict of interest.
Mr. Rosenthal should call on Seema Singh to come clean about being under investigation by the state Ethics Commission so there can be an open, honest discussion in the state Senate race. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Supports candidate’s stand on conservation
To the editor:
For my first time volunteering on a political campaign, I am excited to be involved in Seema Singh’s fight for the state Senate seat. My family has known Ms. Singh for several years now, and to know that she is a favorite candidate to make a difference to the 14th district where I live has really got me interested.
The issues she chooses to prioritize convince me that she is the best candidate to take the position she is running for. I have always been an avid conservationist, doing anything possible to help the environment. She thinks along the same lines and has promoted clean and renewable energy sources, as well as letting people know about energy conservation from her position in the governor’s cabinet.
As a student in high school, problems regarding fuel and energy will linger because of diminishing natural sources, and making sure that people are educated on this potential crisis is crucial in the long run.
I will be watching the race and the outcome of this year’s state Senate election in a way I never have before. Ms. Singh addresses issues that will benefit a vast majority of the New Jersey population. If I met the age requirement to vote, I would undoubtedly select Ms. Singh. Because I cannot, I hope the voters of the 14th district see my point and vote for Ms. Singh.
