Italian American festival slated Sept. 29

   The Fabulous Greaseband, which has entertained hundreds of thousands of music lovers over the years, will be the featured attraction at the eighth annual Mercer County Italian American Festival, with the band appearing on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m. in Mercer County Park, West Windsor-Hamilton.
   The Greaseband is a seven-member "Best of the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s Rock ‘n’ Roll Party Band." The group’s highly entertaining and energetic delivery of the greatest dance songs ever written has kept the Greaseband on top for the last 30 years.
   The members are Harry Pasquito, bandleader, vocals, keyboards; Chuck Broadbent, vocals; Steve Jackson, guitar; Jeanne Giguere, vocals; Tom Poitras, drums; Craig Parson, keyboards, and Jody Giambelluca, bass.
   The Greaseband’s appearance is being presented by Mercer Group International.
   Named one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s top events by aaaworld.com, the Mercer County Italian American Festival will take place on Friday through Sunday, Sept. 28, 29 and 30, from noon to 10 p.m. (Saturday, 11 p.m.) in Mercer County Park, West Windsor-Hamilton.
   The festival will feature authentic Italian and Italian American music, dance, food, amusement rides, children’s activities, the New Jersey Lottery Fireworks Spectacular, the Dragonfly Farms Italian Market Tent with contemporary and traditional Italian products, the Heritage Pavilion with bocce presented by Yardville National Bank, art and memorabilia, and the Cultural Theater with speakers and demonstrations.
   Admission is $2. Children 12 years of age and younger are admitted free. Senior citizens will be admitted free on Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
   Convenient on-site parking is free.
   The festival is a rain-or-shine event.
