Mariusz Sadowicz, 30, of Michigan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to wear a helmet, operation of an ATV on a public street, failure to stop, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and disorderly conduct at 7:09 p.m. Aug. 26 after his ATV struck a pickup truck parked on Harrison Avenue.
Police reported that Mr. Sadowicz left the scene, and went into a nearby house, where police found him.
Mr. Sadowicz was released pending a court appearance after the charges were filed.
A North Ninth Street resident reported finding oil in his pool at 10:21 a.m. Aug. 29 after someone threw a 1-gallon milk jug filled with oil in the pool. The estimated damage is $1,000.
A yellow BMX-style Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from the front of Wal-Mart on North Main Street at 11:25 a.m. Aug. 29. The bike is valued at $100.
Stereo equipment, valued at $1,129, was reported stolen from a 2001 Honda Accord parked at Adesa Auto Auctions on North Main Street at 1:57 p.m. Aug. 29.
Robert Poquette, 42, of South Street, was charged with disorderly conduct at 1:46 a.m. Aug. 30, after a Dunkin’ Donuts employee reported that he was harassing customers with vulgar statements.
He was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $1,000 bail.
An Adesa Auto Auctions security officer reported the theft of a 2007 Chevy Malibu from Adesa’s North Main Street lot at 9:57 a.m. Aug. 31. The vehicle is valued at $16,000.
At 4:09 p.m. Aug. 31, Tracy M. Rush, 44, of North Branch, was charged with shoplifting approximately $80 of unspecified merchandise from the Wal-Mart store.
Mr. Rush was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $500 from an outstanding warrant issued by another municipality.
Police ordered a 2001 Kia towed after finding the car leaking gas in the Fashion Bug parking lot on North Main Street at 1:57 p.m. Sept. 2. The vehicle owner’s daughter was notified on the scene.
