Event slated Oct. 28
On Oct. 28, Philadelphia author Lisa Scottoline will join book lovers and book clubs from Hopewell Valley to discuss her work as a novelist.
The second annual Book Lovers’ Luncheon will be held from noon-3 p.m. at Greenacres Country Club, Route 206, Lawrenceville.
Ms. Scottoline’s novels feature women who are attorneys, judges, or otherwise involved with the processes of law and order, who are gutsy, funny, smart, and in trouble. She is the winner of the Edgar Award for suspense fiction for her novel, “Final Appeal,” and has written more than a dozen novels, all set in the Philadelphia area. Ms. Scottoline is also a columnist for “The Philadelphia Inquirer.”
In addition to Ms. Scottoline’s presentation and a question-and-answer period with the author, the foundation will sponsor a silent auction of book-themed gift baskets, a sale of Ms. Scottoline’s novels, and a $5 sale of used books donated by area book clubs. Book club members are encouraged to bring copies of books their club has read to be donated to the sale.
The Hopewell Valley Education Foundation (HVEF) is the sponsor of the event. Proceeds from the luncheon will support an author-in-residence program in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District.
The cost is $50 per person, part of which is a contribution to the HVEF for the author-in-residence program. Book clubs may reserve tables for their members to be seated together. Open seating will also be available. One does not have to belong to a book club to attend this event.
To make menu selections and register for the luncheon, visit the Hopewell Valley Education Foundation at [email protected]. Registration forms also may be picked up at local libraries and at the six Hopewell Valley school buildings. Since seating is limited, those interested in attending the luncheon are encouraged to register early.
