Event to be held in Hopewell Park
Sunday, Sept. 16 is the date for the final potluck picnic to celebrate local food, agriculture and community at the Hopewell Park, South Greenwood and Columbia avenues, from 5-7 p.m.
Attendees will celebrate "all the wonderful local food that is produced in our surrounding area. The idea is bring a potluck dish to share made with as much locally produced food as possible," said a spokesman.
What is local? "If you know an artisan bread baker, cheese maker, meat producer, fruit grower, vegetable or wheat farmer, honey harvester within 50 miles of Hopewell, that’s local," the spokesman added. The idea is to share this information with neighbors and by doing so, help build a stronger local economy by supporting the local food system.
Bring plates, utensils, beverages and blankets.
