Ellen L. Kisthardt
CREAM RIDGE — Ellen L. Kisthardt, 55, died Sunday.
She was born in and had lived in Trenton before moving to Cream Ridge 30 years ago. She was a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School and earned a nursing degree at St. Frances School of Nursing. She was also pursuing education in naturopathic herbal medicine at Clayton College.
Mrs. Kisthardt worked as a registered nurse in several local hospitals. She most recently worked for Bayada home care nursing in Freehold, and also owned and operated Ellen L. Kisthardt RN Electrolysis of Cream Ridge.
As an accomplished artist she operated Le Fleur Glacé, her stained glass studio, and was a member of the New Jersey Poetry Society. Her love was her family and Caleb’s Hope Cottage in the Adirondack Mountains, where she enjoyed kayaking, snowmobiling and mountain climbing.
Daughter of the late Dr. Joseph and Erika Laufenberg, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, David H. Kisthardt; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Susan Kisthardt of New Egypt; two daughters, Joelle and JaimeLynn Kisthardt of Cream Ridge; a brother, Walter Laufenberg of Yardley, Pa.; and a granddaughter, April Kisthardt.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Rose of Sharon Church, Jacobstown. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
