Mae DiGaetano
Mae M. DiGaetano, of Lawrence, died Sept. 8 at St. Joseph’s Care Center, Lawrence. She was 96.
Born in Philadelphia, she had resided in Pennington most of her life.
Mrs. DiGaetano was a member of St. James RC Church in Pennington. She loved to knit and crochet.
Daughter of the late Guisseppe and Catherine Didio; wife of the late Marco DiGaetano, mother of the late William R. DiGaetano; sister of the late Michael, Joseph and Angelo Didio; she is survived by a step daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Joseph Orenczak, of Clark; a brother, Francis Didio, of Collingswood; five grandchildren, Mark and his wife Kathy DiGaetano, of Lawrence, Bernadette Furlong, of Pennington, William Jr. and his wife Lori DiGaetano, of the Titusville section of Hopewell Township, Alba and her husband Dave DePaola, of Ewing, Joseph Orenczak, of Clark; eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. James RC Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Alma Versfeld
Alma M. O’Hara Versfeld died Sept. 8 at the Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospice. She was 72.
She was born in Mt. Carmel, Pa., and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Versfeld worked and traveled for the American consulate in South Africa, where she met and married her husband, Alexander, before settling in Princeton in 1960. She then moved to Lawrence in 1985.
Mrs. Versfeld was employed for many years with the Department of Justice for the State of New Jersey. She was an avid tennis player and golfer for the past 45 years. She loved to travel, and loved the company of close friends and family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Wife of the late Alexander J. Versfeld, she is the mother of daughter Leigh and her husband Jeffery Petrone, of West Windsor; son Alexander J. Versfeld and his wife Deborah, of Langhorne, Pa.; son Peter F. Versfeld and his wife Charlotte of Raleigh, N.C.; and daughter Gilian and her husband Claudio D’Angelo, of Lawrence. Also, sister of the late James O’Hara, she is survived by her sister-in-law Dolores O’Hara, of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; her sister Catherine Pettus, of Tinton Falls; brother Francis O’Hara and his wife Patricia, of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and her sister-in-law Pearl Barnett, of Cape Town, South Africa. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Christopher and Todd Petrone, of West Windsor; Alexander “Gib” Grant and Kendall Versfeld, of Langhorne, Pa.; Colin and Joelle D’Angelo, of Lawrence and Katy Versfeld, of Raleigh, N.C., and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Paul’s Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
