HILLSBOROUGH Stanley E. Dylo died Sept. 2 at home. He was 83.
Born in Dupont, Pa., he resided in Bridgewater for 31 years before moving to Hillsborough 14 years ago.
Mr. Dylo worked for several automobile agencies for 48 years, retiring as a general manager in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he fought on the beaches in Normandy, throughout Europe and the Pacific and was honorably discharged with many prestigious decorations and citations.
He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 159 in Flemington.
His wife, Geraldine “Geri” Shotyk, died in 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Melick of Hillsborough; two grandchildren; a brother, Anthony of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Sept. 8 from Branchburg Funeral Home in Branchburg, followed by a funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church.
