Art @ Lunch events to continue at museum

The ongoing Art @ Lunch series at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, 71 Hamilton St., New Brunswick, will continue at 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 19 as senior curator Jeffrey Wechsler leads a tour of the museum’s special exhibition, “A New Reality: Black-and-White Photography in Contemporary Art,” which includes approximately 90 photographs. The photographers selected range from those whose careers began in the 1950s-70s to those whose work has emerged within the last decade. While numerically emphasizing American photographers, the exhibition also includes important international photographers.

Art @ Lunch talks take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month (excluding Nov. 21). The programs are free of charge with museum admission. The half-hour gallery talks begin at 12:15 p.m. in the museum’s main lobby. Program participants will receive a 10-percent discount in the museum store on the day of the event.

The public is invited to join Zimmerli curators and art historians as they discuss changing themes and artists from the museum’s permanent collections and special exhibitions. A reception, featuring light refreshments and conversation with the day’s guest speaker, will follow.
