County resurfacing North Hanover road

The resurfacing of a 1.4-mile portion of Cookstown-New Egypt Road (Route 616) in North Hanover Township was scheduled to begin this week.
The project involves the milling and overlay of Cookstown-New Egypt Road, from Jacobstown-Cookstown Road to the county border with Ocean County.
Construction is expected to take about one week to complete. Traffic will be maintained during milling and paving operation. However, motorists may experience delays during construction and are advised to seek alternative routes.
The project is part of the county’s $5.44 million state-funded overlay program, scheduled to resurface a total of 27.6 miles of county roadway in 14 municipalities.
