Hazlet Recreation will offer karate lessons for children ages 4-12 for 10 Saturdays, 10-11 a.m., beginning Sept. 22. Cost is $356, with a $15 late fee after Sept. 21. Classes will be at Amato’s Studio, Palmer Avenue, Hazlet. A uniform is required and may be purchased at the studio.
A limited number of spaces are available for preschool for 3-year-olds for three 10- week sessions, beginning Sept. 24 for threeday sessions and Sept. 25 for two-day sessions. Cost is $130 for residents, and $162.50 for nonresidents for Tuesday and Thursday classes, and $200 and $250, respectively, for Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes. Needed at registration is the child’s birth certificate, record of immunizations, a doctor’s note stating child may attend the program, and two proofs of residency. The programs are held at the James J. Cullen Center, 1776 Union Ave.
The semi-annual Hazlet garage sale will be held Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date Oct. 14). Residents may set up a sale in front yards, and recreation will do the rest. Residents may be listed on the garage sale map to be advertised in newspapers. Fee is $5 and deadline for payment is Oct. 3. Residents may be placed on the map if information is submitted by Oct. 10.
