Montgomery FD expanding Blawenburg fire station

The Montgomery Fire Township Volunteer Fire Company #2 recently broke ground for a fire station addition in the Blawenburg section of Montgomery Township.
Here is a summary of their announcment:
The expansion will include two drive-through engine bays with 14-foot doors that will double the engine bay capacity. The completion of the project is slated for early 2008. The fire station’s new addition will provide additional indoor space to house firefighting equipment and protect firefighter gear. It will also create a new training center where firefighters will increase their hands-on training.
The communications center will be upgraded to improve fire operations and better handle the increasing call volume. According to the MTVFC, the expansion will also allow for increased storage capacity of repaired items which helps to keep trucks on the road.
Funding for the project includes donations made annually to the Fire Company through the Fire Prevention Month – October Fund Drive.
