George Bennett Jr.
   WEST AMWELL — George Bennett Jr., 75, died Sunday, Sept. 16, at home.
   Born in Lambertville, Mr. Bennett had lived in West Amwell Township for the past 53 years.
   He was a member of the Second English Presbyterian Church of Amwell.
   He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post 120 and the VFW Post 7921, both in Lambertville.
   Mr. Bennett retired from the Naval Air Propulsion Test Center in West Trenton as supervisor of electricians with more than 35 years of employment. After his retirement, he worked part time at C.A. Niece Lumber in Lambertville.
   He was the son of the late George and Myrtle Bennett and widower of Sara Jane Tomlinson Bennett.
   Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Bennett III of West Amwell and Don and Lisa Bennett of Doylestown, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberley and Frank Neukum of Frenchtown and Janice and Matt Slowinski of Glen Gardner; one sister, Pauline Aneskewich of New Hope; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. Burial will be private.
   Calling hours will be today (Sept. 20) from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. American Legion services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today.

Siegfried Langer
   SOLEBURY — Longtime Solebury resident Siegfried K. Langer, 79, died Monday, Sept. 10, at home.
   Born in Paterson, he was the son of the late Hans and Gertrud Langer.
   At 2, he moved to Erzegebirge, Germany, with his parents and returned to the United States in the mid-1940s.
   He served in the Army for several years, then returned to the bakery business. Mr. Langer owned and ran Langer’s Bakery in Lambertville for many years.
   Since his retirement, he had worked at several local bakeries.
   Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Doug Rutherford of Robbinsville, N.J.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Suzanne Langer, with whom he lived in Solebury; and six grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Kyle, Samantha and Ashley Rutherford and Ann Marie James.
   Services were private.

Ruth Murphy
   SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS — Ruth Stegman Murphy, 86, died Sunday, Sept. 9, at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
   Born and raised in New York City, Mrs. Murphy had been an underwriter for both Aetna and Johnson and Higgins Insurance companies in New York City for many years.
   Moving to Spring Lake Heights with her late husband, Bill, she was involved as a volunteer with the Spring Lake Heights Fire Department, its Police Department and the local election boards. She was a member of the Trend Setters Senior Citizens group.
   She was the daughter of the late Emanuel and May Macy Stegman, sister of the late Nathaniel “Tanny” Stegman and sister-in-law Rosalind Stegman and Harriet Stegman “Sister” Horowitz and brother-in-law “Willie” Horowitz; sister-in-law of the late Sal Marone; and aunt of the late JoAnne Stegman Green.
   She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Toby and Anne Stegman of Florida; a sister, Irene Marone of Walden, N.Y.; three nieces, Susan, Laura and Jane; three nephews, Michael, Steven and Paul; three great-nieces, Erica, Amanda and Danielle; a great-nephew, Eric; a great-great-niece, Madison; and two great-great-nephews, Logan and Hunter.
   Funeral services were private and under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.
