• First Anniversary Gala Benefit, sponsored by My Daughter’s Keeper, Caregivers of Tender Hearts, cocktail reception and silent at 6 p.m., dinner and dancing at 7 p.m., at Forsgate Country Club, Monroe. Guest speaker: Joi Gordon, chief executive officer of Dress for Success Worldwide. Ticket donation is $150 per person; a portion is tax-deductible. Individuals who are unable to attend may participate in an online auction. My Daughter’s Keeper Inc. (MDK) is a nonprofit educational and self-development organization designed to provide support and resources to mothers/caregivers and their daughters (ages 8-19) to help strengthen relationships and identify solutions to issues such as communication, peer pressure, personal health, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, sex, etc. www.mydaughterskeeper. org.

• Cruise Nights/Car Shows, sponsored by Just Us Cruisers Classic Car Club, 6-9 p.m., in the parking lot at 1980 Route 35 North, next to F-1 Motoring, South Amboy/Sayreville. Family-oriented events feature more than 50 antique and classic cars from across the tristate area. Trophies, games, music from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s. All proceeds benefit the Sayreville Brain Injured Children Association. Businesses invited to donate a trophy and have their names mentioned at the shows. • Car Wash, sponsored by East Brunswick Boy Scout Troop No. 223, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bowne-Munroe School, Main Street, East Brunswick. Rain date: Sept. 29. All proceeds benefit troop activities. Cost $5 per car, $ 7 per van.
