COLUMBUS Ronald L. Stohler, 71, died Friday at his residence.
He was born and raised in Biloxi, Miss. Later, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi. While there, he was a member of the college ROTC Program and graduated as a first lieutenant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who was stationed in Germany for three years on his tour. For his final year, he was transferred to Ft. Story, Va. Upon returning home, he worked and retired as an accountant.
In his later years, Mr. Stohler enjoyed spending a lot of time outdoors, boating and fishing. Also, he was a very proud fan for all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles and Phillies. His greatest love was spending time with his children. He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Leola Stohler, and his sister Margaret Stewart. He will be missed by his wife, Norann Rowe Stohler; his children, Meg Tredinnick and her husband Michael of Paoli, Pa., Ron and his wife Sharon of Indianapolis, Ind. and Heidi Dous and her husband Jonathan of Morrisville, Pa.; and his step-children, Betty Rowe, Michael Rowe, Susan Vecchio, David Rowe and Deb Rowe-Soper. He was the grandfather of 14, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held yesterday at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, Morrisville, Pa. Burial followed in Newtown Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions in his memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.
