After returning home from Marlboro Day, I had an opportunity to review literature I took from both candidates running for mayor this year.
While both Mayor Robert Kleinberg and Jon Hornik share many of the same goals, only Mayor Kleinberg has a real record on the issues that matter most to me.
Mr. Hornik talks about his lofty plans, but he fails to provide any information on how he will achieve them. Of course, it’s easy to say you’re going to reduce taxes, but Mr. Hornik doesn’t seem to have a plan to do so. The last thing Marlboro needs is a typical politician who promises the world and delivers nothing.
Mr. Hornik should take a lesson from Mayor Kleinberg instead of opposing him. Mayor Kleinberg said he was going to restore honesty to government and he has by passing the toughest pay-to-play law in New Jersey.
Mayor Kleinberg also said he was going to stop overdevelopment, and he has by passing new laws that upzone our community. Mayor Kleinberg also said he was going to improve the finances of our town, and he has by eliminating wasteful spending and patronage jobs.
Now is not the time for Marlboro to turn back the clock by electing an inexperienced candidate like Mr. Hornik. Mayor Kleinberg has proven that he deserves another term as mayor.
