Bernard A. Kaminski, 79, died Sunday, Sept 23, at his home in Kendall Park.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he lived in Connecticut and has been a resident of Kendall Park for the last 51 years.
A sergeant in the Marines who served in the Pacific, he was a rifle sharpshooter during World War II. He worked for Airborne Accessories in Hillside for 18 years and retired after 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Somerset. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church of Kendall Park. He was an avid gardener, and bowler with a high average of 200 plus; he also won the 700 Club Tournament with a 821 series.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edna C. Kim Kaminski of Kendall park; a daughter, Kathryn L. Hvasta of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. today (Thursday), Sept. 27, at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. today (Thursday) Sept. 27, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Entombment will be in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
