Fashion Week — Oct. 8 through 14
In the mood for a designer trunk show? Or maybe you would like to see models strut down a runway wearing the latest trends? How about a chance to win fabulous prizes? You can get all this and more at the third annual Palmer Square Fashion Week.
From Oct. 8 through 14, select Palmer Square stores will be hosting trunk shows and special promotions, all leading up to the highlight of the week — a dynamic fashion show, which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nassau Inn. The Prince William Ballroom will come to life as local models hit the runway wearing the latest styles from shops on the square. The schedule for the show is broken into themed segments — Career, Weekend and Evening.
”Each year we strive to grow and fine-tune the concept,” says Anita Fresolone for Palmer Square Management. “The shops are really enthusiastic about putting on a great week of events and show for their customers. We hope it will draw people to the square to shop and dine.”
The fashion show will also serve as a clothing drive to support the Dress for Success, the newly formed Mercer County chapter of the nonprofit service agency, based in Hamilton. Attendees are encouraged to bring their gently used suits and business attire to the fashion show to donate to the cause. The mission of Dress for Success is to advance low-income women’s economic and social development and to encourage self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention.
Alex Laird is the co-coordinator of the show. His Manhattan-based company, Concepts Visualized, specializes in visual merchandising and fashion.
The show will include fabulous give-aways. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
