Einbinder to be honored for community service

The Milltown Revitalization Committee will honor Russ Einbinder for outstanding community service during the 11:30 a.m. welcoming ceremony at Pride in Milltown Day on Oct. 6.

“Russ is one of Milltown’s go-to people, always willing to lend a helping hand when asked and often volunteering before even being asked,” said Patty Murray, chairwoman, Pride in Milltown Day. “Russ has been a tremendous help to us during the 10 years of Pride in Milltown Day by always providing our sound system for free, promoting the event on Milltown’s cable station, videotaping the event to provide post-event coverage on Channel 15 and helping out in any way possible. In addition to his volunteer efforts in Milltown, which are many, Russ also works tirelessly as an adult leader and committee member of Boy Scout Troop 33 and as a member of the board of trustees of Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick, all while running two businesses and finding time to spend with his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.

“It has been my great pleasure to work with Russ and all of my committee members for the past seven years,” added Murray, who will step down as Pride in Milltown Day chairwoman after this year’s event. Next year’s chairman will be Chris Grotkopf.

The 10th annual Pride in Milltown Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Borough Park, JFK Boulevard and Violet Terrace, next to the community pool. Rain date is Oct. 7. The family event will feature activities including a morning cleanup, business expo, Community Pride Fair, arts and crafts expo, pet contest, athletic competitions, giant slide, bounce and slide attractions, an expanded classic car show and a show featuring the magic and illusions of George Reiger. The main attraction is a concert by The VooDudes.

The event is made possible due to the support of all its sponsors, including its Overall Sponsor – The Provident Bank, its Gold Lead Sponsor – CME Associates, and its Silver Lead Sponsor – Heritage Plaza, Ryders Lane.
