Cecilia Hanley
HAMILTON Cecilia Alice Anthes Hanley died Oct. 8 in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. She was 79.
Born in Elizabeth, daughter of the late William and Cecelia Claren Anthes, she had been a resident of Union, N.J. and Scottsdale, Ariz. prior to moving to Hamilton in 2002.
Mrs. Hanley was a graduate of Trinity High School in Westfield, had worked for Bell Telephone, and was a lifelong homemaker.
She was a member of the New Jersey Jazz Society, Rosary Society in Union, and was a former Girl Scout leader in Union. Mrs. Hanley enjoyed jazz music and spending time with family and friends.
Wife of the late Richard J. Hanley, and sister of the late Vincent, William, Regina and Ruth Mechler, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard M. and Faith Hanley of Chandler, Ariz., Brian W. and Karen Hanley of Snellville, Ga., and Edward J. and Kiki Hanley of New Brighton, Minn.; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia E. and Eric Updegraff of Robbinsville; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Catherine, Colin, Amy, Natalie, David and Shawn.
The funeral was Saturday at Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, Hamilton Square.
