FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Applewood Estates will host a Festival of Fine Living from 1-4 p.m. on Fridays throughout October and early November. The festival will feature free programs for seniors while offering an opportunity to preview the “life care” community’s ongoing cultural, educational and social events and dynamic lifestyle. Applewood Estates is collaborating with its affiliate CentraState Healthcare System to provide the following free programs for seniors:
• “Mood Food,” Oct. 19 – What you eat and when can affect your frame of mind. Learn from a dietary specialist how foods impact mood, energy levels and brain activity. Practical tips on how to boost one’s focus, sleep health and weight management will be addressed.
Nov. 2 – Rejuvenate the mind and body while eliminating stress with a mini massage. Therapists will demonstrate the value of massage therapy, which helps to increase circulation and alleviate age-related body aches and pains.
Nov. 9 – Staying Healthy at 70-plus offers easy-to-implement lifestyle suggestions for maintaining good health, both physically and cognitively. The seminar will take place from 1-4 p.m.
All programs are open to the public and free of charge. Light refreshments will be served. The sessions will take place in the new Performance Center at Applewood Estates, One Applewood Drive, off Gully Road. Details and registration: (732) 303-7416 or www.applewoodestates. com.
