Tushar B. Patel, of South Brunswick
To the editor:
I have known state Senate candidate Seema Singh since she was serving ratepayer advocate. She is a South Brunswick resident and running for state Senate for the 14th District on the Democratic ticket. The reason for my support of Seema Singh is as follows.
Ms. Singh believes in property tax reform and supporting a constitutionally guaranteed property tax rebate for hard-working people in New Jersey. She believes in capping and controlling spending, eliminating waste and fraud and looking more into shared services and consolidation in state government.
Her past experience as ratepayer advocate will help the Senate in variety of issues such as energy conservation, environment pollution, preservation of open space and domestic violence issues. She also believes in stopping the state money flow into the war in Iraq, which has exploded our debt.
She was the biggest advocate of Fair and Clean Elections pilot project and will continue to work for a total and absolute ban on dual-office holding and a ban on pay-to-pay at all levels of government and work for an expansion of FACE Pilot Project.
As a medical professional, I believe stem cell research is a very important issue in this country. Seema Singh believes stem cell research represents a great opportunity for economic growth and expansion and she is a supporter of measures to bring such research into New Jersey. She is a strong supporter of stem research, which will provide cures for so many chronic debilitating diseases such as Parkinson’s, diabetes, cancer and many autoimmune diseases. In addition to finding cures for all sorts of medical conditions, supporting stem cell research will bring highly skilled technical and medical jobs and provide a boost to the state economy.
Seema Singh is a competent, hard working and loyal candidate for the state Senate election and if elected, she will be an asset for South Brunswick, the 14th District and the state of New Jersey.
