Imperial Brass will perform in the sanctuary at the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. This is the sixth time the 30-member allbrass group will perform at the church located at 225 Harding Road. Charles Harris, the director of music at First Presbyterian, will join the group on the organ for a selection arranged for brass and organ. Family Night at the Community YMCA, 166 Maple Ave., Red Bank, will take place Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Come in costume for a fun-filled evening of spooky games, creepy crafts and much more. A Halloween costume party will be held at the YMCA Children’s Cultural Center, 51 Monmouth St., Red Bank, Oct. 27 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. The event is billed as a safe evening for teens in grades eight to 12 and includes a best costume contest, raffle, door prizes and dancing. A student ID is required to get in the door and admission costs $5 or $7 for a slice of pizza and soda as well. The proceeds of the event will benefit the YMCA Black/ Hispanic Achievers Initiative.

Red Bank Elks Lodge 233 will participate in the Red Bank Veterans Day Services Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Red Bank Veterans Monument located at 51 Monmouth St. In case of inclement weather the services will be held at the Red Bank Elks Lodge 233 at 40 W. A fifth-grader at St. James School in Red Bank is among the individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses recognized by the state Department of Environmental Protection for their efforts to boost recycling,
Alyssa Coakley was among the winners of the annual recycling poetry contest, for children in fourth through sixth grades, sponsored by the state agency.
The Annual Recycling Leadership awards were presented during the 27th New Jersey Recycling Symposium and Awards Luncheon held in Eatontown. DEP and the Association of New Jersey Recyclers co-sponsor the event each year.
During the event, winners of the poetry contest were honored.

Red Bank RiverCenter, the downtown business alliance, is seeking a 20- 25-foot full evergreen, preferably blue spruce, to use as downtown Red Bank’s Christmas tree for the 2007 holiday season. Each year RiverCenter sends out a request to the public to donate a tree that will be displayed at the Dublin House Courtyard, 30 Monmouth St., from Nov. 19 – Jan. 8. The donor is recognized at the Red Bank Town Lighting and Holiday Express concert planned for Nov. 23.

The first annual “Celebration of Life” fashion show fundraiser for The Wellness Community was a resounding success. Tickets for the evening of food, wine and fabulous fashions modeled by cancer survivors sold out!
The fashion show was held Oct. 18 at the Galleria Atrium in Red Bank with food by 2 Senza Ristorante. Twenty-two local cancer survivors modeled fashions provided by Stacy Gemma and Annie Sez, both located in Shrewsbury.
Founded by Ilene Winters, who serves as executive director, The Wellness Community is a place for cancer support, education and hope located at 613 Hope Road, Eatontown.
