Sustainable Princeton needs a visual identity and is holding a contest for Princeton residents of all ages to submit a logo design.
The winning design will be used on Sustainable Princeton’s Web site, correspondence, awards and promotional materials, and the winner will receive a basket filled with local and regional sustainable goodies.
The logo must include the tag line “Toward a Green Future” and must be designed to work well and be legible in different sizes, colors — including one color — and in both print and online visual media, particularly at 199 pixels wide by 118 pixels high.
Submissions must include the designer’s contact information and should be submitted by e-mail (PDF) to [email protected] or be mailed or hand delivered to Lee Solow, Princeton Township Hall, 400 Witherspoon St., Princeton, NJ 08540.
Members of the Sustainable Princeton Steering Committee will serve as judges and reserve the right to declare a winner of the prize, but not use the winning submission as the official logo.
To help communicate the goals of the Sustainable Princeton initiative to youngsters, Sustainable Princeton is also sponsoring a poster contest for all Princeton Borough and Princeton Township students from kindergarten through high school.
Posters should encourage residents to reduce negative impacts on the environment, live healthier lives, and create a more sustainable community in Princeton.
Suggested themes include energy use, pollution, waste reduction, local farming, open space, green building and transportation.
The winning posters will be displayed in the Princeton Public Library and on the Sustainable Princeton Web site, and first prize winners in each age group will receive a T-shirt featuring the winning poster design.
Posters must be on 11- by 14-inch paper and should be submitted via the above methods with age and contact information attached on a separate sheet.
The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
The winners of both contests will be announced in December.
