Central Jersey Impeach Group will host an array of speakers at the Suzanne Patterson Center behind Princeton Borough Hall 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in a meeting to support the impeachment vote on Vice President Dick Cheney scheduled for the same week.
U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), sponsor of House Resolution 333 to impeach the vice president is bringing a motion of personal privilege to force the vote on impeachment either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, according to the group. Rep. Kucinich is a Democratic candidate for president.
Co-sponsored by the Mercer DFA Chapter, the Princeton Area MoveOn group, and the Princeton Community Democratic Organization, the meeting will feature speakers, planning to support the vote, an open mic, and next steps. An open mic period will allow audience debate and participation.
Speakers invited and expected include Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Princeton), Ray Stever, president of the New Jersey State Industrial Union Council, Stuart Hutchison of New Jersey Impeach Groups, Joan Hervey of Stonewall Democrats, Irene Goldman, chairwoman of Coalition for Peace Action, Cheryl Biren-Wright of South Jersey Impeach, Mary Ellen Marino of Central Jersey Impeach, Kevin Husy of Brotherhood of Railway Workers, and Larry Hamm, chairman of People Organized for Progress.
